We understand that finding the right home for a child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and we’re to support you every step of the way.
Who We Care For
Luna provides therapeutic, trauma-informed care & support for children aged 7–17 with learning disabilities (LD) and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Guided by PACE – Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy, we work closely with families and professionals to provide joined-up support that helps every child feel secure, build resilience and thrive.
Our Referral Process
We believe in planned, thoughtful transitions that give each child the best possible start. Our referral process is designed to ensure compatibility, safety and suitability for all children in our care.

Initial Discussion
Speak with our Responsible Individual or Registered Manager to discuss the child’s needs and find out whether Luna could be the right home for them.

Formal Referral
Submit a comprehensive referral pack, including care plans, risk assessments, chronology, education plans (including an EHCP where applicable) and any relevant background information.

Assessment & Matching
We complete a thorough matching and risk assessment to ensure the placement is right for the child and compatible with the needs of any child already living in the home.

Placement Meeting
A meeting is held with the Registered Manager, social worker and (where appropriate) family members to discuss the placement in detail.

Transition Plan
Once a placement is agreed, we develop a structured transition plan, including introductory visits and overnight stays where appropriate, to help the child settle into their new home.
Playfulness
We use playfulness to reduce anxiety, build connection and help children engage with the world in a lighter, more positive way.
Acceptance
We accept each child unconditionally, recognising their behaviours as expressions of unmet needs and responding with understanding rather than judgment.
Curiosity
We approach every situation with curiosity, seeking to understand the feelings and experiences behind a child's actions.
Empathy
We lead with empathy, showing children that their emotions matter and that we are here to help them navigate their feelings safely.
Why PACE?
We work closely with families, social workers, therapists, education providers and healthcare professionals to ensure every child receives consistent, joined-up support. Our clinical psychologist also provides therapeutic input and professional guidance to help maintain high standards of trauma-informed care.

Safeguarding & Quality Assurance
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Our staff receive comprehensive child protection training, supported by robust safeguarding policies, risk assessments and quality assurance processes. Our Responsible Individuals provide oversight across Luna, helping us maintain consistently high standards of care.
We are committed to continuous improvement and work openly with families, professionals and external agencies, welcoming feedback and scrutiny to continually strengthen the care and support we provide.
